A Busy Week

So this week started busy and just got crazy.

This was Ethan's last week of Nursery/Pre-School. At 6.10am Monday,John's mobile rang and was told he had to be in Bay Bulls(harbour 30 minutes away) in an hour. So he casually asks me 'Can I take the car?', like I was going to say 'No'. Off he goes with the only car we have and I quickly come round and think - Oh s**t, how is Elle going to get to school and Ethan has some Eco-hunter type thing going on at Nursery. Thankfully I have great neighbours and friends (Thank you Marta) and Elle gets to school (so, I can spend the 50 bucks John left for a taxi on a pair of shoes!). Ethan and I walk to Nursery and all is well.

Tuesday, Ethan had Crazy Hair day.

Wednesday was pyjama day.

Thursday Show and Share. Both Big Blue and Big Green went with him. Elle's 7th birthday.

Friday - Ethan's graduating concert. Off John goes again with the car - takes Elle to school and promises to be there to watch Ethan at 9am. Ethan and me walk to Nursery in the rain. Arrive at 8.50am - no sign of John. We take our seat and one of the teachers ask are all the parents here - I say no. Call, John - he's on his way.....he arrives 5 minutes late and says he forgot - Doh, doh, doh!!!!
The concert is ace and Ethan does a great job.

Saturday - Ethan has a party.

Sunday - Elle's birthday party. Man, that was stressful - all was calm until the icing from the cake suddenly turned all the kids into looneys!

Oh yeah - along with all that there was the usual swimming lessons, Little Gym and other after school activites and John working all weekend.

Next week is Elle's last week of school.............Sports Day and Aquarena, Class Photos, Class Party, Field Trip to Lester's Farm, half day Friday - flight to Aberdeen departs 5pm.

O'Briens Boat Tour

So (because that's how all Newfies's start a sentence!) today we sampled the O'Brien's Boat Tour - to check it our for all you visitors coming over soon. At this time of year there are Icebergs and Puffins a plenty to see, but no whales. We got out there and would you believe it Captain Wayne spotted a pod? of 4 Humpback Whales - how cool is that.

Elle being the photographer in the family got the money shots, the tails of the whales. Click on the photo.

We stayed and watched them for about 20 minutes and they played around the boat, by the time we got to the Puffins, the batteries in both cameras had run out!!.
